Nice Trout Rod

I needed a smaller rod to fish the tight confines of the small streams in the Great Smoky Mountains. I found that I was having a difficult time on some of the streams with my 9' 5wt rod. The Echo Carbon XL 7'6" 3wt performed great on our last trip to the Smokies. Water level was low but I was still able to fish better than I have in the past and caught more fish this year with this rod. It was much easier with the shorter rod in the low hanging rododendrons on the narrow streams. I've also used it to fish for bream and specks. And it handles bigger fish as well. My biggest bass on it so far is just under 2 lbs. I'm sure it can handle bigger.
